Neo is een jonge Connemara-ruin, geboren in 2023, met een schofthoogte van ongeveer 1,45 m en een grijze vacht. Hij is bijzonder geschikt voor een jonge ruiter of een kind dat een sportproject wil opbouwen in het springconcours of de eventing.
Neo is een nakomeling van Cloon Eile Cashel x Irlande des Belots (Kaolin II) en beschikt over bijzonder interessante Connemara-afstamming, waarbij erkende Ierse bloedlijnen worden gecombineerd met genetica die gericht is op de sportpony.
Zijn vader, Cloon Eile Cashel, een Connemara-hengst van Ierse afkomst, stamt af van Cloonisle Cashel x Tolka Bridge (Bridge Boy). Hij behoort tot een bijzonder gerenommeerde familie in de Connemara-fokkerij, waarin fokdieren zijn verenigd die hun stempel op het ras hebben gedrukt door hun exterieur, hun gangwerk en hun nakomelingen.
Cloon Eile Cashel onderscheidde zich met name door in 2018 zijn categorie te winnen op het Nationaal Connemara-concours in Pompadour. Tot zijn nakomelingen behoren ook pony’s die resultaten hebben behaald in de springsport, wat het sportieve potentieel van deze bloedlijn aantoont.
Aan moederszijde stamt Neo af van Irlande des Belots, dochter van Kaolin II, een Connemara-hengst met interessante genetica voor de sport. Kaolin II heeft met name een prestatie-index voor springen (IPO) van 146, wat zijn aanleg in deze discipline illustreert. Zijn nakomelingen omvatten ook pony’s die gericht zijn op wedstrijden, met name in springconcours en eventing.
Deze kruising combineert dus Ierse afstamming, die bekend staat om de kwaliteit van het exterieur en de veelzijdigheid, met een moederlijn die sportieve referenties heeft in het springconcours.
Neo past in deze genetische lijn met een wilskrachtig, evenwichtig en mensvriendelijk karakter. Hoewel hij nog aan het begin van zijn opleiding staat, heeft hij een interessant profiel voor een sportproject in de springconcoursen of de eventing, met als doel geleidelijk vooruitgang te boeken naast een jonge ruiter onder begeleiding.
Hij biedt een mooie kans om een sportproject op lange termijn op te bouwen, met een jonge pony die zich in zijn eigen tempo kan ontwikkelen, in een geschikte omgeving en met regelmatige begeleiding.
Prestaties & ervaring
Neo staat momenteel aan het begin van zijn training na de inrijping.
Hij maakt geleidelijk kennis met het werk onder het zadel en zet zijn basisopleiding voort, met als doel een opleiding gericht op springconcours en eventing.
Thuis legt hij al parcoursen af van 8 tot 10 hindernissen van 60 tot 70 cm, vergelijkbaar met de proeven Pony 4 en Pony 3.
Hij heeft nog niet aan wedstrijden deelgenomen, wat zijn toekomstige ruiter de mogelijkheid biedt om zijn sportieve loopbaan volledig zelf vorm te geven.
Zijn jonge leeftijd en zijn wilskrachtige karakter zijn interessante troeven om een gestage vooruitgang te realiseren, met respect voor zijn fysieke en mentale ontwikkeling.
Karakter & dagelijks leven
Neo valt op door zijn innemende karakter en zijn band met de mens.
In het dagelijks leven:
- Rustig en evenwichtig;
- Eigenzinnig en mensvriendelijk;
- Energiek en levendig;
- Makkelijk te hanteren en te verzorgen;
- Aangenaam tijdens de eerste rijlessen;
- Kan alleen of in gezelschap buiten lopen;
- Hij voelt zich even goed thuis in de box als in de wei of in de paddock.
Hij is bijzonder geschikt voor een jonge ruiter die een hechte band met zijn pony wil opbouwen en samen met hem stap voor stap vooruitgang wil boeken.
Ondanks zijn vriendelijkheid is Neo nog een jonge pony in opleiding, die passende begeleiding nodig heeft om zijn training voort te zetten en zijn vaardigheden te versterken.
